Me and my dad started making Nate’s Fire starters a few years ago and this is my story. My dad takes saunas a lot and he started to get frustrated with lighting his wood burning saunas so I came up with the idea of fire starters. It started out as a little Dixie cup in our garage, but over the two years we have done this I think we have perfected it.

Starting a fire is a big deal with us. Whether at our cabin or our house, we’re either starting the wood burning sauna or lighting a fire in the fireplace. I was committed to stop using newspaper: It produces a lot of ash, and there are bad chemicals in newspaper ink. Mainly, though, we were looking for a reliable way to start a fire and get our sauna stove crankin’ in the cold Minnesota winters. After a lot of refinement and testing and using, we have come up with a really great firestarter: all natural, made from 100% post consumer all natural material, and best of all… it works every time.
